Failed payment: how to update your card

If you've received a "payment unsuccessful" email from us, your monthly Lodg payment didn't go through. Most of the time it's an expired card, insufficient funds, or a card the bank flagged. Here's how to fix it.

Update your card in 60 seconds

  1. Log in to Lodg.

  2. Go to Account settings → Billing.

  3. Click Update payment method.

  4. Enter your new card details and save.

  5. We'll automatically retry the failed payment within a few minutes.

Common reasons payments fail

  • Expired card — most common. Update with the new expiry.

  • Insufficient funds at the moment of charge — top up and we'll retry on our next billing cycle, or trigger a manual retry from the Billing page.

  • Bank flagged the charge — call your bank, ask them to allow Lodg charges, then update or re-enter your card.

  • Card replaced or cancelled — update with the new card.

What happens if I don't fix it?

We retry failed payments automatically over the next few days. If we still can't collect after several attempts, your account is paused — you'll lose access to the app until payment is resolved, but your data is preserved.

I need help
